The Wedding - the late show
LONG long overdue. So overdue. I wrote this soon after the wedding and then forgot to upload it. Rather late than never they say………..
As you all know Sarah and I have been building up to the wedding of the century over the past 15 months or so. Saturday the 29th March 2008 finally arrived, and it is safe to say, that thanks to Sarah’s unwaivering dedication and immaculate planning as well as the support of numerous others, the service and the reception went off without a hitch. The weather even held off - kind of.
We booked The Bend Country House for the weekend, for the reception on the Saturday night and to accomodate close family and friends. The Bend is set in a private nature reserve and a 5km stretch of the Mooi River. It was the perfect venue for our reception and enjoy the weekend. Here are some photo’s of the grounds during our stay.
The service was held at Michaelhouse in the Kwa-Zulu Natal midlands. A private boys high school, the grounds are stunning and the chapel picture perfect. I have to admit that the service was a bit of a blur for the both of us…. I have uploaded some photo’s of Michaelhouse and the service. The lighting in the church was low, making photography difficult so there aren’t many of the actual 45 minute service.
The religious and legal activities accounted for, we had pro photo’s in fast fading light and incoming weather (the photographer David Rees was a genious) and then headed back to The Bend courtesy of Ron/Bev’s stretch Merc and Steve the chauffer.
The reception went off without a hitch (well none that I noticed but that may be thanks to the endless help we had from all quarters, family and friends included), and many have commented how enjoyable the evening was. Thanks to everyone for travelling so far, incredible sacrifices were made by so many people to make it and celebrate with us and we will bever forget the day and those that we able to join us.
Photo’s of the reception have been uploaded here, and some of the numerous, unbelievable photo’s taken by David Rees here - it took a magician to make me look that good, for Sarah it was easy……….
